OUR STORY

Small Family-Owned Farm

From a standing start with six chickens and frankly a bit of a pipe dream whilst the whole world was plunged into lockdown in March 2020, we now have five beautiful Oxford Sandy & Black sows producing a couple of litters a year each, and a small herd of rare breed cattle headed up by 'Alan' the Shorthorn bull.

Between the three founders we manage to produce free range pork the quality of which you will rarely come by, and purely grass fed, slow growing beef that is by all accounts exceptional.

The meat from the farm is exclusively available through our single customer, Distinct Hotels, and is available through their British Brasseries.

ABOUT BEECH HILL FARM MEAT

At Beech Hill Farm, we take pride in the heritage of our animals and the quality of our products. Our farm is dedicated to providing high-quality pork and beef, raised with the utmost care and respect for the animals. We believe in complete transparency, from the pastures where our animals graze to the final cuts of meat on your table. We are passionate about what we do, and our mission is to share affordably priced, top quality produce with all those that care about what they eat and how it has been produced.

Choosing rare breed pork means choosing superior flavor, juiciness, and texture, thanks to their slow growth, natural rooting habit, and rich marbling, unlike lean supermarket pork. It supports biodiversity by preserving heritage breeds, reared free-range with GM-free feed, resulting in a richer, more "porky" taste with amazing crackling and better Omega-3 content.

Choosing grass-fed beef offers significant nutritional advantages, being richer in heart-healthy omega-3s, antioxidants (Vitamins A, E, CLA), and minerals, while often lower in total fat and calories, supporting better heart and immune health. It also avoids synthetic hormones, and GMOs, and comes from cattle with more natural, pasture-based lives, aligning with animal welfare and sustainable farming practices that benefit soil health and biodiversity.

SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

With the recent arrival of 'Alan' the Award Winning, Pedigree Shorthorn bull, the future of the Beech Hill herd is in safe hooves.

Alan spends the majority of his days whiling away time with his hareem of cows, which means we now have more regular 'deliveries' to keep the number of animals in the fields topped up. Calves are left with their mothers throughout their lives.
