🐄 Welcome to the World, Little One! Peonie's Dexter Calf Has Arrived!

We have absolutely wonderful news to share from Beech Hill Farm — and we couldn't wait a moment longer to tell you! 🎉

Peonie, our gorgeous purebred Dexter cow and one of the true stars of the farm, has done it again. She has welcomed a brand new baby calf into the world — born completely naturally here at Beech Hill Farm. Mum and calf are both doing wonderfully, and the whole farm is buzzing with excitement!

A Natural Arrival 🌿

There is something truly magical about witnessing a new life come into the world naturally, and Peonie made it look effortless (well, almost!). She was calm, composed, and quite frankly a little smug about the whole thing — as any proud Dexter mum would be. The calf arrived with all four hooves pointing in the right direction and wasted no time getting to grips with farm life.

About Peonie & the Dexter Breed 🐾

For those new to our little corner of the world, Peonie is a purebred Dexter cow — one of the oldest and smallest native cattle breeds in the British Isles. Dexters are beloved for their gentle temperament, hardy constitution, and their brilliant ability to thrive on smaller, traditional farms just like ours here at Beech Hill. They are the perfect small farm cow: friendly, resourceful, and absolutely full of character.

Peonie herself is everything you'd hope for in a Dexter — gentle with the farm team, fantastic with her calves, and utterly unflappable even on the busiest farm days. She takes her role as matriarch very seriously indeed.

The New Arrival 🌟

The newest member of the Beech Hill family arrived in fine form — wobbly legs, big curious eyes, and already showing that signature Dexter confidence. Within no time at all, the little one was up on their feet and getting acquainted with the world. Peonie, ever the devoted mum, hasn't let the calf out of her sight.

Moments like these are exactly why we do what we do here at Beech Hill Farm. There is nothing quite like a new arrival to remind you of the simple, brilliant joy of farm life.
